SAVE OUR CHURCH - BULLETIN - JUNE 18, 2003

Dear Supporters of the Faith and Our Lord,

FutureChurch has named June 22nd, the Feast of Corpus Christi (June 22) as "a national day of study, reflection and prayer about the Eucharist (The Catholic Mass) and the future of the Catholic Priesthood." As announced in our previous Bulletin, FC will be meeting at St. Marks parish Social Hall for their "celebration" of this feast this coming Sunday. Since FC denies the miracle of transubstantiation, and the "gift" of Holy Orders that initiates the miracle, this "celebration" is a sham. FC has even highlighted the fact that the speaker, Dr. Conrad Gromada of Ursuline College is the author of a book that "explores the 1995 World Council of Churches statement on Baptism and the Eucharist." What the attendees of this Feast are going to be feed is a non-Catholic view of the Eucharist which is a denial of the Body and Blood of Christ. Can you let this pass without your witness against it? Or do we wish to encourage the darkness by our own indifference or passivity?

We are compelled to be a witness for Jesus Christ against this denial of the Body and Blood of Our Savior. Our Prayer/Protest this Sunday at St. Marks from 3:30 to 4:30 is the most important yet! Do not let preoccupation with less important matters rob you of your opportunity help overthrow the works of darkness and bring some souls back into the light at this critical time. You are needed at this Prayer/Protest!

We have gotten the attention of FC and have obviously and rightfully caused them great concern. When your opponents began to attack you with falsehoods you know they have no real ammunition and they are frightened. Darkness and error cannot possibly stand in the face of Truth and Love. We have the truth but do we have enough love to show it ? Love that is sacrificial, that truly cares about our saving faith and our neighbor that may have been misled? And please do not ever think that we have not been deceived because we are more holy or righteous! It has been that kind of blindness and pride that has allowed the enemy to spread his errors among many of our brothers and sisters who have been hurt by these attitudes among us. Our understanding of the Holy Faith of the Church is an incredible gift of God that love compels us to share--even if it must first cut to the heart and soul. I envision the conversion of Sr. Christine Schenk. She is a gifted person who I believe cares deeply about people but has been convinced orthodoxy is not the solution to the problems she has seen in the Church, but the problem itself. She is partly right on the first point but fully wrong on the latter one. Our orthodoxy is no solution if there is little or no love in our hearts for others. Sr. Schenk and I would agree that loveless (and thus a twisted) orthodoxy among Christians is the leading cause of all our problems in the Church. But orthodoxy itself is not the problem. To reject the moral and theological truth preserved by the Holy Spirit by the magisterium is only to deepen the problems. In reality, while you may have empathy and compassion towards others without moral and theological truth, you cannot have a healthy healing or restoring kind of love without true orthodox faith.

Do not lose your love. Do not let the assurance of sweet victory die. Do not let your confidence in God's enablement and presence at our Prayer/Protests diminish. Will see you Sunday! God Bless!

Dave Webster

P.S. Those of you who have never been at one of our Prayer/Protests, this would be a great time to make this your first. We will have literature to pass out, signs to carry and the rosary to pray. It is wonderful to know you can bring joy and consolation to the hearts of Jesus and Mary by something so simple. Don't miss out!

Dear SOC Supporters,

We had a great trip to South Carolina to see our youngest daughter graduate from Johnson and Wales Suma Cum Laude. Now we have finally finished up a lot of yard work that was begging to get done and have been able to devote some time to SOC. Your giving has been tremendous! Thank you all for your gifts, prayers and for spreading the word!

There will be a VOTF meeting at St. Clarence (Pavillion) 30106 Lorain Rd., N Olmsted, this next Sunday, June 8 at 2 PM. There will be no Prayer/Protest outside these meetings but some of you might wish to go and ask important questions. I will not be able to attend as my future Son-in-law is getting confirmed that afternoon. Please call them to confirm the meeting: 440-734-2414

The big FutureChurch meeting of June 22 at St Marks (Social Hall) is coming up and we want our presence there in full force at the Prayer/Protest. Please do all you can to be there.
